Computer Classes
Where: Computer Classroom (2nd Floor) of the Main Library
Cost: Classes are offered free-of-charge to the community! However, there is a $5.00 deposit (per class) to hold your reservation. Your deposit will be returned to you the day of the class. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required since space is limited to 12 people per class. Please register for classes in person at the Computer Center Desk (2nd floor) or for more information, call 256.549.4699, ext. 119. A current (free & clear) library card is needed to enroll. If you don’t have a card, you can get one at the Circulation Desk, 1st floor of the Main Library.

Class 1 - How Do I Turn This Thing On?
When: Tuesday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 8th from 9:30AM to 12:30PM
This is a two-day class (3 hours per day) for the absolute beginner. No computer experience is required.

Class 2 - Intro to the Internet (World Wide Web)
When: Wednesday, September 15th, from 9:30 to 11:30AM
Prerequisite: How Do I Turn This Thing On? or basic computer knowledge.
This is a single-session class for beginners who have little or no experience using the Internet. This class will teach the basics of using a web browser & search engine to explore the World Wide Web.

Class 3 - Using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
When: Wednesday, September 22nd, from 9:30 to 11:30AM
Prerequisite: How Do I Turn This Thing On? or basic computer knowledge.
Need help in learning and using Microsoft PowerPoint for great presentations or for making handouts?

Class 4 - What is Social Networking?
When: Wednesday, September 29th from 9:30 to 11:30AM
Prerequisite: How Do I Turn This Thing On? or basic computer knowledge.
